Choreography

Barry Avidan specializes in choreography and artistic management for professional and amateur dance troupes and for theatrical plays and various events, in Israel and around the world. In his work, Avidan is influenced, among other things, by biblical and Jewish motifs, as well as the use of three-dimensional theatrical props and themes drawn from contemporary vibrant Israeli culture.

Avidan serves as the home choreographer of many Israeli dance troupes, such as the representative dance troupes of Haifa, Afula, Hadera, Ashkelon, and more, for whom he has created a rich repertoire of dances, in the spirit of Israeli-Jewish culture.

In addition, Avidan creates individual dances on selected topics, such as his works for the kibbutz dance troupe, the Jok troupe (Romanian troupe), Biriuska (Russian troupe), and other bands in Israel and around the world. Avidan also served as chief choreographer of the 15th Maccabiah Ceremony, and as the chief choreographer on the eve of the opening of the Carmiel 2000 Dance Festival.
